The only address you need if you want to do Barcelona in Style…

Living up to its name, the Majestic Hotel & Spa stands tall on the Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona’s most prestigious address on the corner of Valencia. Opened in 1918 under the name of Majestic Hotel Inglaterra, this gem, the first Catalan property to receive a Michelin Star, for its erstwhile Drolma Restaurant, is also home to over a 1000 art works. After an elaborate 30-million-euro renovation completed in 2013, the Majestic reduced room numbers from 303 to 271. It is fair to say that the newly upgraded property owned by the Soldevila-Casals family has every creature comfort for the affluent traveller. The property has witnessed many important political, cultural and historical events but nothing prepares you for the befitting hospitality that awaits you when you check into the Majestic.

Anyone who is “somebody” has either stayed in the Majestic or at least enjoyed its hospitality; be they royalty, movie stars, writers or singers. The hotel is Majestic by name but very cordial by nature. Staff have been put through their paces with regards to holding up the hotel’s reputation and living up to delivering the excellent service that its first-class clientele are accustomed to. Majestic has not changed address since its opening and has prestigious neighbours like La Pedrera, Casa Batllo, the bustling Ramblas, Boqueria market and the Gran Teatro del Liceu as well as prestigious shops, all within a walking distance.

Marble is the order of the game here, with timeless bathrooms, magnificent hallways, expanded lobby and a new Calle Valencia entrance for groups all compliment the hotel’s sheer prominence. Marbling aside, Majestic is home to the largest suite in Barcelona. The extravaganza has two impressive terraces – making it the only suite in the city to have two panoramic views of the Passeig de Gracia and the Sagrada Familia.

Guests in this Penthouse suite which costs 15,000 euros per night, can avail themselves to a floor space of 467m2, 3 bedrooms and spacious common areas, butler services for their entire stay, as well as chauffeur-driven luxury vehicle.

All in all, the Majestic has three Penthouse suites and 24-hour serviced private residences across the road opposite the main hotel. There is the Majestic Royal Penthouse, the largest, the Penthouse Passeig de Gracia medium-sized and the Penthouse Sagrada Familia all suitable for the ultimate luxury experience.

It is also worth noting that the Majestic has well adapted rooms for the less-abled guests; though all the rooms and facilities are suitable for and accessible by wheelchair users.

Other creature comforts in the Penthouse include a large lounge with several sofas to seat up to 14 people, a dining room, a custom-made maxibar with choice drinks and selection adapted to the guest’s choice, a jacuzzi, hydro-massage showers and a complimentary leather case containing 5 fragrances by Atelier Cologne Maison Parfum Paris in 250ml and30ml bottles. The 30ml bottles are embossed with the guest’s own initials. The entire suite has been carefully designed by renowned interior designer Antonio Obrador who also saw the main hotel through its transformation. For entertainment, the suite has 8 Bang & Olufsen televisions.

Apart from the magnificent penthouse, all the other rooms in the Majestic are unique, albeit decorated in the same style with classic furniture combined with contemporary elements in brown, white and beige tones.
