Most people travelling to Bangkok will be looking forward to sampling some of Thailand’s delicious street food and you must. However, before you leave Bangkok, let’s lure you into one of Bangkok’s best kept secrets.
Koi Restaurant and Lounge on the 39th Floor of the Sathorn Square Building is just the place to go to for a spot of excellent Japanese food and cocktails.
KOI did not just spring up on the high rises of Bangkok. The restaurant and lounge had its first opening in Los Angeles in 2002 and expanded through New York, Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi and now Bangkok. Such is the popularity of KOI that the “great and the good” want to be fed by KOI Chefs.
No-one walks into KOI with an empty stomach and walks out yearning for more food. |
When you arrive at the Sathorn Square building, the 85-seater KOI Restaurant is situated on the 39th Floor. The views from the very tall and large windows are breath-taking. You can admire the Bangkok skyline as you tuck into your meal.
The Food at KOI
The Food at KOI is not simply Japanese; there is an element of Californian fused in it somewhere. The menu is made up of a variety of bento boxes all served with miso soup, fruit plate and green tea. KOI serves the most generous portions ever. No-one walks into KOI with an empty stomach and walks out yearning for more food. The portions of their very tasty food are quite larger than average.
Dinner is pretty much fine dining with a selection of heavy weights in Japanese cuisine such as peppercorn Japanese Waygu Rib Eye Toban Yaki and Grilled Main Lobster & Hokkaido Scallops with Sea Urchin Americaine Sauce making a prominent appearance on the menu. And by the way, you will not be surprised to find Miso Bronzed Black Cod as a starter.
Adjacent to the restaurant is a 50-seater lounge and 3 private dining rooms, it is fair to say that KOI is the ideal venue for social entertaining and corporate events. The rooms can be booked individually, together or in conjunction with the lounge. They can also be isolated to cater for private individual events. The opportunities for hosting events are endless.
Each room is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, laptop connection and either a flat screen tv or projector. Set menu dinners can be arranged in advance, or guests can choose from the a la carte menu. The restaurant also caters for daytime meetings packages. The private dining rooms are available for six, ten or fourteen guests.
Don’t just take our word for it. Drop into KOI anytime you are in Bangkok and you will not be disappointed.
