It’s the Therapist that Matters!
Day and salon spas, are now springing like mushrooms. They are now broadening their menus of services and treatments, re-focusing on offering quality massages, facials, and other maintenance/therapeutic mainstays. Spa consumers don’t necessarily want a huge, diversified menu from their day spa – what they want is a place they can visit on a regular basis to achieve consistent results from a therapist that they know and trust. Perhaps spas need to put more effort into getting their customers to come back month after month.
Six Senses is “balancing senses” at rue de Castiglione in Paris.
Among the frenzied hustle and bustle of Paris is a peaceful spa haven where you can go to have a “slow life” and actually come out not feeling guilty.
Six Senses has created its eight urban sanctuary in a quiet location next door to the Westin Paris and close to Place Vendome and Jardins des Tuileries.
The unique cocoon looking spa has been designed by French architect Pierre David to introduce Parisians and guests at the Westin Paris to the Six Senses balances of the elements of sky, earth and natural wood. Their mission is to deliver a spa experience that is both unique and memorable while emphasising on the Six Senses brand values – natural, holistic, harmonious, revitalising and personal.
In the two double and four single “Cocoons” the spa offers Six Senses signature half-day sensory journeys and rejuvenating Asian-based treatments along with locally inspired SLOWLIFE treatments such as the Paris Roof Top Honey Facial that uses honey harvested from city bee hives from the roof tops of Paris to nourish and protect the skin or the Organic Detoxifier Journey using hand-collected organic seaweed to expel toxins and re-balance the body.
Executive Traveller tried and tested the Holistic treatment. A relaxing full body massage which includes a massage of the face and scalp. Using long, slow stroking movements your practitioner will release tension and the symptoms of stress and guide you to a state of deep relaxation. The holistic treatment lasts for about 60 to 90 minutes and costs between 120 to 160 euros.
Our verdict: The holistic experience is absolutely divine and comes highly recommended but the relaxation area for post-treatment is in a very small “after-space” behind the Cocoons, which although peaceful, does not do full justice to the treatment one has received from within the Cocoon.
