In the Mix: Rum Tasting in Saint Lucia

Rum Tasting at the Rum Cave with Alvin Isaac

Bartenders in the Caribbean are getting hot under the collar with Rum mixes and Alvin Isaac is mixing it up with excitement at the Rum Cave.

Marigot Bay Resort & Marina’s Rum Cave is a mixture of casual dining and rum tasting experiences, this restaurant and bar has been designed to provide an intimate setting reflecting the beauty of a Caribbean colonial era Rum distillery.

When it comes to Rum tasting in Saint Lucia, it doesn’t get any better than a session with seasoned Bartender Alvin Isaac. Alvin is Soufriere-born and raised; he dabbled in many jobs before a bar tendering opportunity at Vigie Beach Resort revealed his hidden skills as a bartender. He later travelled the world on a cruise liner where he improved upon his bartending skills until he joined Marigot Bay Resort Marina in 2014.

Alvin is one of the experts who helps guests to learn about the journey of Rum. He welcomes his guests with a smile before introducing them to the very vast world of rum. Rum has been very important to Saint Lucia, since sugar was introduced to the Island in the late 1700s. The whole experience is worth it. Guests are introduced to a selection of Rum and with every bottle of Rum, Alvin has a story to share. He makes the experience so captivating. From Admiral Rodney to the Chairman’s Reserve, Alvin Isaac will pace you through your tasting and ensure that you fully appreciate the taste of rum and the stories that he shares with you. It is all about the flavours and casks and who the Rum was named after.
