hotels rooms: tried and tested:
next will hotel room design inspiration come from? Swissôtel
Métropole, Geneva goes Alpine…
Swissôtel Métropole, Geneva has created twelve
“signature rooms” the first of their kind within
Swissôtels & Resorts with a view to “wowing”
their guests and ensuring that they are user friendly.
It all started with
an alpine inspiration, parquet floors and an absolute
eye-catching colourful wallpaper, which symbolize
seas of flowers as encountered in the Swiss Alps…et
voila! A signature room was born.
The rooms certainly
make a statement and it is not only because of the wall
paper, which have been exclusively designed for the hotel
by the renowned Swiss textile manufacturer Jakob Schlaepfer,
but because of the refreshing feeling that you get when
you walk into the room.
It is a very modern approach to the previous but still
existing conservative style which remain available
for guests who resist change.
The signature rooms have open, mosaic bathrooms providing
guests with their own personal spa experience via
the steam showers or Jacuzzi baths with jet stream. The
comfort experience is enhanced by the Swissotel product
line Pürovel, which is produced by Swiss farmers
using pure biological oils and local herbs. Guests
have the additional possibility of a fulfilling Swiss
spa experience at the neighbouring Spa 43 by Valmont
if they so desire.
rooms also demonstrate the latest technological developments:
all lights and electronic instruments are navigated via
a central control panel and the 150 channel television is
integrated into a room-high mirror – and this is a
real “wow” factor, with a media connection panel
allowing guests to connect an MP3 player, an iPad or notebook
or to view their own video.
The pampering does not stop there – guests can use
free of charge for their unique hotel experience, the minibar,
ironing service on arrival, Nespresso coffee machine and
free Wi-Fi access.
Above all, every signature room offers a view over the famous
English Garden or Lake Geneva.
Stefan Winistoerfer, General Manager of the Swissôtel
Métropol, Geneva says that the , “the first
guests in the signature rooms have been absolutely delighted.
The designers have accomplished a modern and chic ambience,
offering a high degree of comfort. Twelve additional signature
rooms will be completed in the course of the year”.
